1. Contours Itsy
The Contours Itsy is a compact stroller with a lot of features for its size. The basket in the back of the seat has a spring loaded mechanism, allowing you to move the basket to store the backpack or diaper bag and then it will open up to secure the contents. It also has a child’s accessory holder as well as an adjustable reclining seat pad. This is more than what you see on a typical light stroller.
Additionally, it comes with an excellent canopy that can open and close to provide the sun protection you need, and the handlebar is height-adjustable in four positions to provide a more comfortable fit. We weren’t so impressed with the quality of its ride on rough surfaces. We found that the wheels and suspension didn’t do a great job of absorbing bumps and shocks.
The stroller is ideal for travel since it is fully assembled in the box. It takes only just a few steps to be ready to use. The seat can be pushed forward and back to adjust the recline. It’s quite flat. It’s a cinch to fold and unfold, due to two buttons on the frame. It can also be put into the perfect carrying bag when it’s not in use. In fact, it’s one of the most compact strollers we test, and it meets most airlines’ requirements for cabin storage or gate-checking on airplanes. This is a great choice for those looking for a stroller that is lightweight. It has all of the features parents are looking for in a stroller. It comes with all-terrain tires and front suspension to ensure smooth riding. It is also extremely lightweight, weighing less than 12 pounds. It has a simple fold that is self-standing and one-hand. It has two cups holders on each tray to accommodate the parent and child.
Its build quality, however it is a bit at the lower end and it did not score well in our maneuverability tests. It has a flexible frame which makes pushing it across rough surfaces feel like lifting weights. It may be fine if you use the stroller only on paved sidewalks. But for most people it is not comfortable.
The Cloud Plus features a three-tiered extended canopy with an open window that provides additional sun protection. The multi-position seat can be used by children up to 50 pounds and uses a five-point safety restraint. This is a great choice for older toddlers that have outgrown their car seats for infants.
It comes with a single-step and compact folding mechanism and can be folded with only a click of the button. It also has a convenient brake that can be operated by a foot, which is simple and easy to set and release.
The handle is lower than most of the strollers we have tested however some parents may feel uncomfortable using it for long periods. The handle is secured in position when it’s opened. This is a great feature if you intend to use the stroller on uneven or rough terrain.
3. Munchkin Sparrow
The Munchkin Sparrow is the ultimate travel stroller for parents who are on the go. This ultra-compact stroller is easy to fold up and down, and fits easily in overhead compartments on planes and in trunks at amusement parks (no worries about parking charges). It comes with a carry bag that zips up for easy storage. It can be used with the infant car adapter from birth and offers good sun protection thanks to its canopy. The only issue for certain parents is that they consider the style to be dated and unfashionable.
The BabyZen Yoyo+ stroller is more expensive than the other lightweight single running stroller strollers. However, it was designed specifically for urban living and luxe travel. It’s among the smallest strollers to fold (and comes with a handy carry case), and it has a nice amount of storage space, including a cup holder. The seat is comfortable for the child and the adult and reclines to a nearly flat position. This is the only stroller on our list that has a car seat adapter to allow it to be used with babies. The handlebar isn’t adjustable and could pose an issue for some parents who are taller.
The UPPAbaby Minu V2 may not be the most lightweight stroller, but it has a lot of great features to help children travel more easily. Its spacious seat reclines to a flat position, and comes with extra padding that will make those airplane naps last longer. The canopy extends to provide plenty of sun-shade and the tray on the front offers a good amount of storage. It also features a spring-loaded handle that doubles as a footrest when folded. The footrest, however, appears to be prone to damage from baggage handlers.
4. Uppababy Minu V2
Uppababy’s Minu V2 is a premium stroller that doesn’t compromise on quality and design. Its compact design allows it to easily maneuver through narrow streets and tight spaces and its robust construction lets it handle rough terrain without compromising comfort of your child. The spring-action suspension on the front and rear makes for a more comfortable ride, and its sturdy materials ensure that it will stand up to the wear and tear of everyday use. Furthermore it can be enlarged to accommodate additional items such as baby car seat.
In our testing in our tests, the Minu was a breeze to maneuver and fold, even with a baby in hand. Its squat nearly square fold which folds in thirds, is one of the most simple folds we’ve seen and allows it to easily fit in overhead compartments on planes and public transport. It comes with a single pushchair with buggy board-action color-coded brake that is simple to use.
The seat has a multi-position recline as well as a one-handed adjustable leg rest, making it easy to find the perfect position for your child. The UPF 50+ hood slid down quite far and was ideal for shielding Cora’s eyes from sun (though not as low as some other strollers). Joovy, a well-known stroller brand that makes a variety of models. This light-weight model is a good choice for parents looking for a workhorse stroller that carts children around, provides ample storage, is fairly easy to maneuver and doesn’t require a high engineering degree to fold. This model is not suitable for those who want an extra stroller or a car seat compatible model. It won’t work with infant car seats, and your babies must be able to sit on their own before you can use this stroller from the beginning.
This stroller is packed with features and is offered at a price that is very reasonable. It scored a higher rating in our maneuverability review than some other models with similar specs, and it’s an excellent option for smooth pavements. It also comes with a great canopy and plenty of storage space, including a spacious parent tray. The front wheel suspension is stiff, and the handlebar is smaller in diameter than average, but it offers a comfortable ride for adults.
If you have twins or two children with different ages, you might discover that a stroller with a side-byside feature is the best option to move them around. Our top pick is the Joovy Twin Groove. It comes with a variety of features and a small footprint that allows it to fit in places where other side-byside strollers aren’t.
