What is a single buggy?
A single buggy is a light four-wheeled vehicle that is typically driven by a single horse. Amish people often use it and call it the sleigh. Families typically opt for a single buggy because it allows them to move around without difficulty.

Different types of single buggies
A lightweight buggy can be a great choice for parents who frequently travel, plan to use public transport with their child, or go on vacation. They typically weigh less than 6kg and fold compactly and can be carried in overhead compartments of flights. They are also simple to move making them perfect for city travel. They’ll often include a raincover as well as a sunshade, too – always worth investing in to keep your baby comfy at all times!
A jogger buggy is equipped with large BMX wheels and is designed to exercise. It will have a good suspension to take care of the bumps, bounces and other effects of off-road use. Jogger buggies can be difficult to steer as the front wheel can rotate, which is why it’s crucial to lock this when mounting kerbs or crossing roads.
A few buggies are reverse-able. This allows the seat to be positioned forward or backward (also called parent-facing). This is ideal for babies who are irritable in the car seat and prefer to look out at their parents. Other models are only forward-facing and are best for older children who do not want to be disturbed.
Alternatively, there are tandem buggies, designed to take two children of the same age together. This can be useful for families with twins or babies born close together but can be difficult to navigate, particularly in small spaces. Some tandem buggies come with an adjustable mechanism inside each seat, so your child can lie flat while you push them.

A single buggy purchase
A new buggy can be costly. Most pushchair packages with newborn bassinets can cost upwards of PS700. This is a lot for parents on a a limited budget.
The reality is that, except for an urban area that has public transport at your fingertips or have an enormous car boot and spend your weekend on muddy parks, the majority of families purchase two buggies. One sturdy buggy that can handle rough terrain, carry heavy loads and expand with your family and another lightweight travel buggy that can be used for holidays or in tight spaces such as public transport and crowded streets.
We suggest buying one buggy that you like, and then selling it when your child gets up and you need to upgrade to a double. So you don’t end up with a novelty that isn’t what you really need.
Double buggy: Purchase one
You have to think about many things when purchasing a double buggy, from the price to the types of reclined positions available. You should also be aware of whether you require an extensive basket and the type of suspension the buggy comes with. Think about the features you would like to have on your buggy such as sunshades or rain covers.
There are a myriad of double buggies available on the market. The one that is right for you depends on the person who will use it, your lifestyle and your budget. If you’re expecting twins, or have a toddler who is newborn, you may need a stroller that can grow with your family. The handle folds by using just one hand via the twist mechanism. It’s lightweight and compact but not as compact as the Cybex Gazelle S. It has a smooth brake and excellent suspension which makes it easy to push through rough surfaces. The seats and harness straps of the car are cushioned and comfortable for your child to sit in.
