iRobot Braava Jet 240
The Braava Jet 240 is one of the cheapest robot mops that we’ve tested and is also one of the most loaded with features. It’s designed to work with reusable, machine-washable cleaning pads (two for $20) or single-use Bona cleaning products. It needs only water to run, which is pumped into a movable reservoir at the back. The bot will only mop if the pad is connected and the tank is filled when you send it out to clean but not either of them, it will vacuum instead.
The setup process is fairly simple. Attach a cleaning pad and push until you hear the click. The bot will be able to recognize the type pad and choose the appropriate mode. If you’re using a damp sweep pad, the robot will move in a sweeping manner; if you’re using a wet mopping pad it will employ more deliberate, back-and forth scrubbing action.
We tried the robot in a tiny apartment with tile floors, and it did a very good job of picking up dirt and other debris from the floors. It wasn’t able to remove everything however, it did a fantastic job on the big, sticky messes. It also did a excellent job of removing water spills, though it was not able to eliminate some more stubborn ones.
Its performance when it comes to navigating between rooms is less impressive. It’s able to do a decent job of finding its way around the room, but it does not make your home a map in the similar way other robots do. The navigation is a bit clumsy; we found it to hit things quite often, including our foot and cats.
The iRobot Braava Jet 240 makes an excellent option for a family who is busy and is looking to keep their home clean and tidy without spending a lot time on it. It’s not as versatile as our top picks, however it does a fantastic job of keeping the kitchen and bathroom looking their best.
iRobot Braava Jet m6
The iRobot Braava Jet m6 mopping robot is one of the most advanced robotic floor cleaners available on the market.
