It is important to travel with children and have a compact pushchair. It will be easier to transport and take up less room in your hotel. It will also be easier to maneuver on a train, plane or bus. You’ll want a pushchair with a large, spacious basket that will accommodate plenty of clothes and other essentials. It should also have lockable swivel wheels that can tackle smooth and rough terrain.
One of the most lightweight holiday pushchairs from birth we’ve tested is the Babyzen Yoyo2. It features a compact curvaceous frame that is made of high-end monochrome fabric. It comes with a thick cap that can protect your child from sun, and a handy cup holder for drinks. It can be folded with one hand. It is available in black, grey or red, and is priced at a reasonable price.
Another great lightweight holiday pushchair is the Joie Tourist. This stylish stroller comes in a stunning shade of gray. It’s also light, weighing only 6kg. It can be folded down to the size that of a suitcase. It’s ideal for parents who need an easy pushchair to transport. It can also be used as a pram, with its seat that reclines!
If you’re planning to travel with twins, consider a light double stroller such as the Mountain Buggy nano duo. It is the smallest, lightest and most affordable double pushchair available. It is easy to fold and unfold and has an enormous storage basket. It also comes with a large hood and locking swivel wheels that can handle rougher terrain.
A good lightweight pushchair will also feature a compact folding mechanism and should be easy to carry on your shoulders. This allows you to easily transport your child in taxis, buses, trains and up and down escalators or stairs. The Joie Tourist is a great option, as it has an easy one-hand folding mechanism that can be tucked away inside an overhead locker for flights. Easy to Manoeuvre
If you’re planning to travel for a holiday or you’re looking for a light buggy that you can use for home use and when visiting friends, a light travel pushchair will meet your needs. There are many options, including ones which come with a variety of extras, such as an infant bassinet, a rain cover, or toddler legrest so their legs don’t dangle. Often with a slightly shorter frame and simpler suspension than the other buggies They can be a bit flimsy, but our MFM reviewers found them to be manageable.
A well-constructed, lightweight holiday pushchair will be easy to maneuver and come with an ample storage basket so you can take lots of essentials with you. It should also be freestanding when folded so it will take up less space in your accommodation and is easily pushed through busy airports or put into the car boot without sacrificing space. The ability to fold and unfold using one hand is a huge plus, especially if you’re travelling alone. You’ll also want to find a stroller with the ability to climb and descend stairs and on and off the escalators.
Our MFM reviews found the Graco Eezefold pushchair to be extremely easy to move and even when fully loaded it feels sturdy enough to cope with cobbles and bumpy roads. It’s also very easy to use on public transport and can be easily tucked away in the end racks of trains (it can be stored with the seat still attached). Ideal for babies starting at birth and is available in a variety of colors and a range of add-ons including a baby bassinet as well as a raincover and a footmuff. It’s also available as twin travel bundles.
Easy to fold
The Britax Holiday is a compact and lightweight pushchair that folds down to fit into the overhead storage area or in the car’s boot. It’s also cabin-friendly, making it easy to travel via air. You can carry it on your shoulders using the included strap. It’s not easy to use at first but once you get the hang of it it’s an ideal stroller for short trips.
Our testers tested it on daily excursions, from quick trips to the shops to strolls through the park, and even longer trips to visit friends and family abroad. They loved how manoeuvrable it was in all kinds of environments and how easy it was to fold and carry. It comes with a large shopping basket, a large hood for rain protection and a stylish cup holder that’s a great option for a travel-sized mug. It’s a great pushchair to toddlers and infants from birth to 4 years old.
It’s so easy to open and close, even when you are in a rush or have your hands full. It’s also a very smooth pushchair to drive and the recline function is easy for young children to use. It’s not equipped with the extra support a carrycot or bassinet provides for infants and is not suitable for use as a buggy for travel.

Easy to store
You’ll be into and out of trains and taxis, and going up and down escalators and stairs with your child. Therefore, it’s important to pick a light pushchair that you can easily store and move. Look for one that folds to the size of a small space and is able to stand when opened, or pops into an easy flat fold so that it takes up less room in your accommodation. If you need to store the pushchair when it is not in use, a basket that is freestanding is a good option.

During our tests, it was incredibly easy to steer and stomp through cobbles as well as bumpy roads, and some big kerbs. It didn’t feel cheap or flimsy, which is an achievement for a vehicle this small and lightweight. The only drawback is that the seat doesn’t recline. However, as it’s designed to move it’s not a big deal. The handle bar is fixed at quite a high height and wasn’t much adjustable, but it was still comfortable for tall and short adults during our test.
